To all our friends in Yonkers, Bronxville, New Rochelle, White Plains, Hartsdale, or any of the other amazing towns in Westchester County still burning No. 6 oil in your boiler – are you aware of Local Law #9014-2016 and did you know you only have until July 31st of this year to switch to a cleaner-burning fuel in your boiler?
If you’re one of the buildings that has to switch away from No. 6 this year, don’t even think about going to No. 4! Why’s that? Well in just another 2 years from now (July 31st, 2020), any remaining systems on No. 4 oil will also have to switch to a cleaner-burning fuel (either No. 2 oil or natural gas). That’s 10 YEARS ahead of NYC’s requirement to switch away from No. 4 oil!
