For several years, Metro Group has had the privilege of collaborating with Roger Williams Park Zoo, providing essential supplies to enhance the welfare of its animal residents. Among these supplies are empty drums utilized for enrichment activities and specially designed food containers that mimic tall trees. These longstanding efforts have been providing both mental and physical stimulation for the animals.
A Day at the Zoo
This year, our involvement took on a new dimension as our Service Manager had the incredible opportunity to accompany our technician to drop off the drums. It was a chance to witness firsthand the impact of our contributions and to experience the zoo’s environment up close.
During their visit, they were able to interact with some of the Zoo’s most iconic residents—the elephants and giraffes. Observing the animals with containers highlighted the importance of environmental enrichment in controlled settings.
