In April 2020, the American National Standards Institute (ANSI) designated the American Society of Sanitary Engineers (ASSE) 12080 Professional Qualifications Standard for Legionella Water Safety and Management as an American National Standard.
The ASSE 12080 Standard defines the minimum qualifications required to become a Certified Legionella Specialist. Certified Legionella Specialists are qualified to develop water management and sampling plans to reduce the risk of Legionella and other water borne pathogens in building water systems and perform risk assessment analysis.
John Caloritis, Technical Director for The Metro Group, Inc. was a member of the working group tasked with developing this Standard. The working group was compromised of the industry’s leading experts and authorities on the subject of Legionella and Water Management. The Metro Group was proud to have been included in the inaugural Certification class as Vinny O’Reilly, Director of Regional Operations, recently completed the required training and passed the Certification exam.
This Certification provides clients of The Metro Group with the assurance that all Water Management Plans & Recommendations are signed off on by individuals possessing the most up to date knowledge and skillsets the industry can provide, and adds to the list of credentials and experience that set the Metro Group apart as a leader in Water Safety & Management for the control of Legionella.
